Why Down Payment Assistance?

For many Bay Area residents, their monthly rent is roughly the same as a monthly mortgage payment, making saving for a down payment their primary barrier to homeownership.  Down payment assistance loan programs are designed to help remove this barrier.

What is AC Boost?

AC Boost is a thoughtfully-designed down payment assistance loan program created to help our workforce afford to buy a home in Alameda County.  Designed and managed by Hello Housing in partnership with Alameda County Housing and Community development department (HCD), AC Boost gives buyers a boost, providing loans that are intended to bring home-ownership within reach of households who would otherwise not be able to afford to purchase a home.
AC Boost offers shared equity loans up to $210,000 for first-time homebuyers who live in, work in or have been displaced from Alameda County
